Alright, alright, alright! So a few days ago I attempted to start running again. Afterwards I felt good, but I definitely felt out of shape. When I woke up the next morning I could barely move my legs. My shins burned. My thighs hated me. And my butt. MY BUTT, you guys! It felt like I had done a million squats and/or lunges. (But then I guess that’s what running is? Kind of?) So, I took a few days off from running. I decided it was best if I didn’t kill myself in the first week of this journey and I plan on continuing tonight when it cools off a bit. On to the new content below!
OK people. I really want to be cool and show you my awesome collection of clothes (not sure if they’re really that awesome), but my room is a wreck right now. Forcing some motivation into my little bones so hopefully when I get up for a glass of milk in the middle of the night I won’t trip over my mountain of dirty clothes and fall to my death. Seriously. No, really, I will post before and after photos. Just so you know.
| Honey: | So what do you want on your pizza? |
| RASHRY: | Just pepperoni and bacon. |
| Honey: | Let's order some CinnaStix and a Lava Cake. |
| Honey: | Ok. What about to drink? |
| RASHRY: | Uhh...... |
| Honey: | Dr. Pepper? Sprite? |
| RASHRY: | How about... |
| Honey: | I know. Coke Zero. |
| RASHRY: | .............. |
| Honey: | We're on a diet. |
I decided that I wanted to get back in shape. I just ran an un-distanced amount, (if that’s a word?) My body is aching and one or both of my lungs may have collapsed. But I feel good. I feel like if I can muster the will-power to continue doing this, then I can reach my goal.
Positive Rashry is being positive! (Let’s see how I feel about this tomorrow and wish me luck!)
Am I insane for registering for 19 credit hours over the summer?
Several people have said that I must hate myself. Really, I just must hate my wallet.
****RANT****
My major requires me to complete two internships before graduating. One is required to be during a fall or spring semester and the second one can be during a summer. You have to pay for one credit hour of tuition while completing your internship. I am currently interning for the Spring 2012 semester. Ashley’s bank account: subtract $678.23. Okay. Got that paid. Now, I need to catch up with my school work and course credit hours. So I thought I would just register for some classes over the summer in order to catch up on the classes that I missed while interning.
Register for 19 hours. University charges per-credit hour. Tuition is $9,973. Um, EXCUSE ME?! Summer tuition is more than I pay for a Fall or Spring semester! Thankfully I have scholarships but they don’t cover everything. I still have to pay $1,834 out of pocket. Whut? So frustrating.
I’m working towards graduating in 3 1/2 years instead of the traditional 4 years. I don’t know if I’m killing myself by doing this or if it is going to be worth it. I think I am going to take advantage of the technical school close to my home and try taking a couple of classes there instead of the University. Not only are the classes cheaper, but some are easier. I’m hoping if I take 6 hours at Tech, then the 13 I take at the University will be more budget friendly and not bite me in the butt.
Other issue. I’m almost positive that the class I have to take this summer for my major requires all students to have their own digital SLR camera. The cheapest one of these that I have seen is $350. So far I have been fortunate that I have not had to take out any student loans but I feel like this whole college thing is really starting to push my buttons. I just feel like I have to jump through so many hoops to get to the end of all of this.
